Regina's Experience at Sarah's... an Oasis for Women
Sarah's... an Oasis for Women is a home dedicated to the safety and dignity of a diverse community of women.
Regina left her home in Cameroon to escape an increasingly dangerous situation to her health and well-being. Finding no safe place to stay, her immigration lawyer referred her to Sarah’s... an Oasis for Women, a program supported by the Ministries Foundation and started by the Sisters of St. Joseph.
At Sarah’s she worked on her resume, enrolled at the International Institute of Minnesota,
finished her Nursing Assistant Degree, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Now she works as a nurse and lives in her own apartment.
"Sarah’s cannot stop. It has to continue because there are a lot of women like me out there who still need a place, who still need a home. Sarah’s can give them that home."
