When Rosie arrived in Minnesota from Brazil with her husband and three children, she knew that to thrive she’d need to speak English. Learning In Style School, a program supported by the Ministries Foundation, offered her the classes she needed in English and math to succeed in a new job market. Free onsite childcare makes attending classes possible for those who need it.
Rosie spoke Portuguese and not much English at all, but was a talented math student and she quickly excelled in classes. It only took her a few years at Learning In Style School to learn the English she needed to start her own catering business, and soon after, a cleaning company.
