Happy New Year!
July 1 each year marks the beginning of the Ministries Foundation's new fiscal year. Our beginning balance is $0 and we strive to raise enough to help several thousand more people become independent, contributing, members of society. Believe me, it’s a worthy way to focus time and energy all year long.
The Ministries Foundation staff works with everything we have to help fund the programs that help others. But this new year is different. Those who had a lot lost a lot; and those who had a little lost a little. To whom do we now turn for help?
I suggest we go inside ourselves and see who is home there, first. Do you find a generous person living there? Giving is a way of being, not just a way of doing. Giving gets old if it’s not integrated into our relationships, work, thought and prayer. Try spending a day giving to everyone you see, even if your gift is a smile. I guarantee by the end of the day you will feel full of goodwill, not empty. Once you realize that you can give, invite others to do the same. We need all the help we can get. This may seem like a terrible time to ask for money, but it is the best time to give. Together we can make it. Happy New Year!
